was born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1992. He started playing cello at 6 years old and recieved his bachelor degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts of Mannheim (Germany) with Prof. Michael Flaksman, graduating in 2014. He then continued his studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Prof. Jelena Ocic and completed the Master program in 2018.
He has regularly taken part in a number of chamber ensembles, most notably string trio “Besemer, Tsai, Nedialkov” – having given more than 100 concerts throughout The Netherlands.
He has attended masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Frans Helmerson, Mischa Maisky, David Geringas, Bernard Greenhouse, Antonio Meneses, Danjulo Ishizaka, and many others.
Boris has received many prizes and awards, among which – Second Prize at the Cello Biennale competition in Amsterdam, First Prize at the 6th edition of the “Silvio Omizzolo” Competition in Padova, Italy; Silver medal and Second Prize at the 3rd International Cello Competition “David Popper”, Hungary; First prize in cello category in the First International Competition ”Young Virtuosi” Sofia, Bulgaria, and others. He has also received scholarships by Lion’s club Baden–Württenberg and the Arts Foundation in Baden-Wuerttenberg.
He has performed as soloist with several orchestras, among them are the Heilbronner Sinfonie Orchester, Mannheimer Philharmoniker, classic FM Radio in Sofia, and others. Boris was selected as an academist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for the season 2015/2016 and his collaboration continued through 2016 – 2017. He is a former Solo Cellist of the Mannheimer Philharmoniker 2010 – 2015 and a member of the Münchner Rundfunkorchester since 2018.
